What the forecast says
According to Météo-France (update of 2 July), the drop in temperatures has lifted the heatwave alert across much of the country, with intense heat now confined to the south-east — following a June episode of record intensity, surpassing August 2003. A new temperature rise is forecast from the end of the week, and several models project peaks close to 38 °C around 10 July.
In other words: the window to get equipped before the next wave is measured in days.
What the 2 July readings show
At the 9:30 PM reading, none of the 237 points of sale monitored in France by ClimRadar has the Midea PortaSplit in stock — neither in-store nor online among the monitored retailers.
Among the alternative models tracked, the De'Longhi Pinguino GentleJet remains available in 4 out of 94 monitored points of sale: the Castorama stores in Toulon-La Garde (in stock), La Seyne-sur-Mer and Perpignan (low stock), and castorama.fr at €669.90. Always check with the retailer before making a trip — at this level of tension, stock showing as available in the evening may be gone by morning.
Getting equipped before the wave, without monitoring yourself
When a restock arrives, it goes in hours rather than days. If you are targeting a specific model, ClimRadar's email alert will notify you as soon as stock is detected in your area, within one monitoring cycle. And if your need is immediate, budget single-unit models are easier to find — provided you understand the trade-offs of that choice.
